Assessment Method
To successfully complete the SSSTS course, delegates must pass an examination consisting of:
- Multiple-choice questions testing knowledge across all course topics
- Short written answers demonstrating understanding
The examination lasts approximately 30 minutes with an examination pass mark of 80%. The paper consists of questions designed to test your comprehension of supervisory safety responsibilities and health and safety law.
Score between 70% and 80% and your resit is free.

Yes — live online over Zoom, with the same CITB-approved trainer and the same certificate. It is tutor-led at fixed times, so you must attend both days. CITB does not permit SSSTS as a self-paced video course.
Our only classroom is in London (Ilford, IG1). Everywhere else in the UK we deliver the identical course live online. For six or more we will come to your premises anywhere in the UK.
Five years. Renew with the one-day SSSTS Refresher before it expires — leave it longer and you sit the full two-day course again.
Our pass rate is 96%. Most people who fail have not done the free mock test — sit it twice and you will be fine.
